The owner of a house that does not yet have an electricity supply or an electricity meter has been billed for more than €4,600 despite her constant complaints to ARMS – the utilities billing company.

The woman explained that she bought the property in Birgu two years ago but has not since registered for an energy supply. The property does not have an electricity meter installed. Yet she has been receiving energy bills for the past two years, despite her complaints to ARMS Ltd.

“I have called them repeatedly and explained that I have no meter installed and no energy supply. Every time they tell me that they will look into the matter but I keep receiving bills nonetheless. And the total keeps rising.” The outstanding total currently stands at €4,630.15.

The latest bill – covering the period from December to February - listed a consumption estimate of 386 units.
