Globe on Screen presents Dominic Dromgoole's impassioned interpretation of one of William Shakespeare's classic plays, Julius Caesar. Recorded from the Globe Theatre, the production will be showing for one night only at the Eden Cinemas on Thursday 30th April at 8pm.
Opposing dictatorship and republicanism, private virtue and mob violence, Shakespeare's tense drama of high politics reveals the emotional currents that flow between men in power with themes that still resonate even today. A truly unforgettable cinema experience, the sell-out production is beautifully captured in exceptional high definition and full surround sound.
As in Shakespeare's renowned play, the story revolves around Caesar as he returns to Rome from the wars. A virtual dictator, Brutus and his republican friends resolve that his ambition must be curbed, which in Rome can mean only one thing: the great general must be assassinated. But once the deed is done, the idealistic conspirators must reckon with the forces of a new power bloc, led by Mark Antony and Caesar's nephew Octavius.
Join the audience in the front row as the drama unfolds, and share the unique magic of the world famous Globe Theatre exclusively at the Eden Cinemas. Tickets are priced at €15 per adult and €10 for children and students aged 16 and under. Visit www.edenculture.com.mt for more details.
