€56,000 worth of prizes distributed to local innovators and craftsmen

A total 56,000 worth of prizes have been distributed to local innovators and craftsmen during a prize-giving ceremony  held today called ‘Premju Gieh l-Artigjanat Malta 2014’ and ‘Premju Innovazzjoni Malta 2014’.

The presentation was organised by the Department of Trade. The funds were included in the last budget.

The aim of the presentation is to help incentivise creativity and innovation in various sectors, including education, arts, technology, manufacturing and creative entrepreneurship.

Nancy Caruana, the Permanent Secretary within the Economy Ministry, explained that the innovation prize helps instil a culture of innovation and creativity.

Godwin Warr, director-general of the Department of Trade, was also present for the ceremony, along with Michelle Bonello, director, Industrial Property Registrations and Noel Bartolo, the vice chairman of the Crafts National Council.
