Bank of Valletta employees, accompanied by family members and friends recently went on a trekking trip across the wild coast of Baħrija. This is only the latest in a series of activities organised for the BOV workforce by the BOV Sports and Social Club Committee.
The trekking session was led by Jonathan Henwood, author of the series Great Walks Malta and Gozo. He guided the group to Wied il- Baħrija, home of the elusive and endemic fresh water crab il-qabru. The group then proceeded to the cliffs of il-Qlejgħa, home of a former Bronze Age village boasting world class views, Miġraħ il-Ferħa, Irdum il-Vigarju and Il-Blata tal-Melħ.
The BOV Sports and Social Club has been in existence for many years. It was set up by the Bank to instil camaraderie between its staff members who meet regularly to organise events in an informal manner. The Club organises various events which vary in nature and include sporting, culinary, drama and cultural events amongst others.
The activities organised by the BOV Sports and Social Club are open to employees as well as their families and friends.
