The year of 2015 marks the 175th Anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. For one-and-a half centuries his music has attracted great interest amongst all generations and people all over the world and continue to mesmerise to this day. His three ballets "Swan Lake", "The Sleeping Beauty", "The Nutcracker" are true pearls of the world's ballet treasures and the most popular repertoire of the many international ballet theatres.
The Royal Moscow Ballet's Company ''The Crown of Russian Ballet'' was founded in 1997 as the choreography of that time demanded a new repertoire. The Company is directed by Artistic Director Mrs. Anna Alexidze who is also the representative of a famous ballet dynasty, and Chief Choreographer Mr. Anatoly Emelianov, the leading dancer of the Company.
The repertoire of the Crown of Russian Ballet includes classical masterpieces as well as modern dance staged by Anatoly Emelianov, which have been formally recognized by professionals world wide, as extremely interesting and progressive in the framework of the world choreography.

Over the years this company has become one of the most elite and internationally recognized ballet company in Moscow, touring successfully in Russia and around the globe: the USA, Great Britain, Canada, North and South Africa, Germany, France, Italy, Malta, Spain, Arab Emirats, Denmark, Ireland, Tanzania, Israel, Japan, Sri-Lanka, and China being their strongest markets to date.
Artistic Director Anatoliy Emelianov prepared a special programme for Maltese and Gozitan families devoted to the two great Russian composers - "Tchaikovsky Ballet Gala" on the 15th May, which will include the best extracts from "Swan Lake", "The Sleeping Beauty", "The Nutcracker", "Romeo & Juliette", World Premier of "Manfred" and full length ballet "Cinderella" by Sergey Prokofiev on Sunday, 17th May 2015 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
This unique event will not only bring to the Maltese stage some of the talented russian ballet artists, but is also fantastic opportunity for the young local ballet dancers to perform alongside on the same stage with professionals in what will surely be memorable shows.
