A 52-year-old man residing in Mtarfa is in a critical condition after being involved in a traffic accident in Triq Buqana limits of Rabat (Malta) at about 11.45am today.

Preliminary investigations by the Police from the Hamrun Police District revealed that the accident took place between the victim's bike - a Yamaha - and a pick-up van make Mazda, driven by a 69-year-old man residing in Mosta.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and was later certified as being in a critical condition.

Duty Magistrate was informed about the case.

Investigations are ongoing.
