PN MP Clyde Puli said today that national station PBS is only airing what the Labour government wants the people to hear, anything else which goes against the government’s policies is censored.
Speaking during a news conference held at the PN headquarters, Mr Puli said that the government is using PBS as a tool for propaganda.
Making reference to a number of stories published in independent media, including in The Malta Independent, on the controversial University site issue, Mr Puli said that PBS failed to report government MP Marlene Farrugia’s comments in which she sent a strong message against the proposed site. This story was picked up by independent media but for some odd reason was ignored by PBS.
Mr Puli referred to this newspaper’s headline titled: ‘Labour MP Marlene Farrugia accuses government of going against electoral pledge’.
He said: “It is understandable for PBS to have censored the comments of the OPM communications chief where he stated that ‘Simon Busuttil no longer ABZ mill-ODZ’, but there was no reason why not to report Dr Farrugia’s comments on something of national interest.
