Putting our country in the hands of political nincompoops

Sunday, 31 May 2015, 09:18 Last update: about 11 years ago

Marthese Portelli has revealed the PN’s real aim behind its continuous objections to the American University of Malta project, when she said that she is not concerned if the Jordanian investor, who is investing €115 million, would decide to go elsewhere instead of Malta.

In fact I have been saying this ever since the PN had objected to the citizenship by investment programme (IIP). For the PN, any big investment is considered as another big obstacle to their electoral hopes.

But the cherry on the cake was when Marthese Portelli tried to convince Marsascala residents why they should also be against the project because, she claimed, that if this project is done at Zonqor, “the price of pasta in Marsascala would go up”. Using Marthese’s own logic then, regardless of where this university is built, the price of pasta will also increase!

Please keep in mind that Marthese Portelli has been chosen by Simon Busuttil as a probable future minister in a PN government. Are you ready to entrust the future of our country to such political nincompoops?
