Kevin Moore’s success was the highlight for Malta in the Small Nations Games yesterday when he won the Gold medal in the 400m men’s final.
Moore clocked the time at 47.85 ahead of Kolbeinn Höður Gunnarsson of Iceland at 48.44 and Georgios Avraam of Cyprus at 49.84.
Reece Dimech was also competing in the race but finished fourth 0.29 second behind Avraam.
On the other hand, in the 400m women’s final Janet Richard finished second to claim the silver medal. Richard stopped the time at 55.96 behind Þórdís Eva Steinsdóttir of Iceland who finished just 0.24 seconds before.
Francesca Borg who was also competing in the race finished in sixth place.
Mixed fortunes for Jessica Pace and Viktoria Lucenkova in the women’s tennis doubles. In the first game Malta lost 3-0 against the pair of Sarah De Nutte and Xia Lian Ni of Luxembourg.
But in the second game, Malta won 3-0 against Letizia Giardi and Chiara Morri from San Marino.
