A few days ago, Transport Malta set up a billboard on the outskirts of Safi saying that a project for agriculture is being carried out with EU funds. Nowhere was it stated what this project was. To everybody's surprise, a few days later, a private lane was being given a concrete surface.

I believe that public money should be used for the benefit of the general public. The road that leads from that lane to Safi village is in a pitiful state. This road is used by farmers every day and by many people who work at the Malta Freeport and Hal Far industrial estate. Many have complained about the damages caused to our cars due to the miserable state of this road but these complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

I hope that Transport Malta will resurface this road for the benefit of all Maltese citizens and not just for the chosen few.
