ifs Malta elects new president

Kenneth B Micallef, Head CEO's Office at Bank of Valletta, has recently been elected president of the Institute of Financial Services Malta (ifs Malta).

Mr Micallef started his banking career in 1993 when he joined Bank of Valletta. During this tenure, he has performed a number of roles within the Bank, both at retail and head office level. He currently heads the Office of the Chief Executive Officer and is the Secretary of the Bank's Management Board. He is also member on the BOV Arts Exhibition Committee and Executive Secretary of the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation.

Kenneth has been an active Committee Member of the Institute since 2003. During this term he occupied various roles including responsibility for the Institute's activities and participation on a number of financial literacy projects. Prior to being elected President, he served as Vice President responsible for education.

Kenneth is an MBA graduate in Banking and Finance with a Chartered Banker status conferred from the Chartered Banker Institute, the highest professional accreditation available to bankers worldwide.

Set up in 1961 as the Chartered Institute of Bankers, the Institute is a leading provider of knowledge and education for people employed in the Banking and Finance sector. ifs Malta seeks to promote a high standard of professional skills and values amongst persons engaged in the provision of financial services to the general public.

The ifs Malta Committee for 2015-2016 is composed of Joseph J Agius (Vice President Education), Peter Calleya (Vice President International Affairs & Strategic Planning), Anatoli Grech (Secretary), Joseph Ricca (Treasurer) and members Paul Farrugia, Wendy Zammit, Mark Agius, Peter Gatt, Joseph Bugelli, Roberto Apap Bologna, Wilhelm Attard, Adrian Mallia and Kenneth Genovese.
