emCare recently launched PocketPal together with its partner, Lloyds Pharmacy at the Bournemouth Care Show. PocketPal has been designed to provide visibility, efficiency and accountability for domiciliary care providers.

The solution provides care workers who need to travel and visit different homes with their schedule for the day, as well as the clients' profiles, contact details and GPS directions. The care providers are able to check off tasks from their to-do list, take notes, as well as report any incidents. This electronic data and other instant updates are sent from the care worker to the head office and vice versa, thus enabling administrators to update the care workers' appointments list from the office and reschedule tasks in real-time.

Other key features of PocketPal include an administrator dashboard which graphically displays up-to-date appointment lists, a complete audit trail of the customers, clients, care workers and administration, and the generation of electronic reports for anything as simple as office filing to next of kin updates. To eliminate possibilities of human error, templates may also be created and data pre-populated according to a variety of factors. If a task is missed, PocketPal actions a workflow so as to notify the care provider, who may in turn wish to report a valid reason.

Speaking during the launch of PocketPal, Roland Cachia, General Manager at emCare said: "The Care Show is one of the UK's largest health care events and plays a vital role in bringing industry professionals together to discuss and debate key issues and explore the opportunities for providing and managing quality care for a rapidly ageing population."

"Demonstrating the solution at the event was not only a success in reaching the target audience of Domiciliary Care providers, but also caught the attention of many Care and Nursing Home service providers, who also learnt about PocketPal's adaptability in other sectors," Roland Cachia concluded.
