Tournament favourites Latvia, as expected, beat Malta 35-14 in the quarterfinal stages.

The Latvians opened the score but during the first quarter, Malta kept close with the Latvians leading by just one goal. The first half ended 17-8 and practically Latvia had the job done in the first half.

The match only solidified the status of the favourite team that Latvia enjoyed in the eyes of the many people following the tournament. Though Malta suffered this loss, the contingent is proud of the performances achieved.

However, Great Britain managed to seal the match by winning 38:20 and staying in contention for ninth place.

China, as expected, beat Andorra 39-30. Bulgaria scored a win versus Ireland in the last match of the day with the result of 46-26.
