It is usually announced by means of a special press release that elicits groans all around, except from people from Msida.

But this year, someone was cannier: the announcement was made in a little-noticed page of the Government Gazette.

It says that sections of the Regional Road will be closed to traffic at times this weekend because of the Msida festa and the associated fireworks. There was a time, some years ago, when this practice was stopped because of complaints but it was later resumed.

The Regional Road direction Msida will be closed tomorrow from 10pm to 1am as from the Skate Park roundabout. This will happen again on Saturday from 8pm to 1.30pm and on Sunday from 11am to 4pm and again from 6pm onwards.
