Since arriving and settling in Malta in 2002 CS Lawrence has presented 10 solos and another 10 collective art exhibitions.
Her latest is a 20-piece presentation entitled Melange currently on display at the Orange Grove Café of the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard.
The Melange collection represents a broad spectrum of art ranging from mixed media faces to contemporary Maltese landscapes. Subjects include the dramatic views of the Grand Harbour area, showing Valleta and the Three Cities, maritime scenes including the yachts berthed alongside Birgu Marina, the colourful decorated streets during local festas, and the charming cafe culture of Valleta.
Artist CS Lawrence held her first exhibitions in the Arabian Gulf where between 1992-2000 she held eight annual exhibitions in Bahrain, Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Concurrently with her activities in Malta she has also taken part in 3 collective exhibitions in the UK where she even had her work featured at a gallery.
"The Corinthia Palace Hotel is delighted to support local artists with such initiatives and the events, now running for the past year, are proving very popular with both locals and also our international guests”, remarked Jim Dunn, PR Advisor to Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa., who co-ordinates the exhibitions programme with Ray Piscopo, Art Curator, at the Hotel.
Melange was inaugurated by journalist and publisher Wilfred Sultana who on various occasions saw to the media promotion of CS Lawrence exhibitions. “Today I look back pleasantly over my association with Caroline particularly when I helped to organise even in Sicily a particular exhibition entitled ‘Faces of Africa’. This exhibition, still my ever favourite, then showed the real and humane ‘Faces’ of this great continent”, remarked Sultana.
Melange remains on display up till the 27th July.
