Swieqi residents yesterday evening took to the streets in their locality to silently protest against vandalism caused by young people who frequent the area, which is close to the notoriously undisciplined Paceville.

The residents complained that their cars and property are often vandalised by people who are on their way to or back from Paceville, particularly over the weekend.

Swieqi is within walking distance of Paceville and many revellers park their cars in Swieqi.

The residents are also irked by the volume of the noise created by the Paceville revellers during the nights.

“We should be allowed to sleep quietly knowing that our  property is safe,” one resident said.
