Mother says flowers she put on daughter’s grave stolen within a few hours

A mother has expressed her dismay that a bouquet of flowers she placed on her daughter’s grave at the Addolorata Cemetery was stolen within a few hours.

Writing on Facebook, in the Salott page, Christine Grima said she cannot “believe how someone can actually walk in a cemetery in broad daylight and steal flowers from graves of our loved ones.

“Last Saturday was my baby daughter's 12th anniversary since she joined the angels in Heaven, I went to Addolorata Cemetery at 9am with a beautiful bouquet of pink and white flowers, cards and a candle.

“My sister visited a few hours later and the flowers were gone! I knew these things happen, but what I cannot understand is how can you live with your conscious (sic) knowing that you just stole flowers which were meant for someone dear to another person.”

The flowers would have died in a day or two, she added. It’s not about the money, it’s about the horrible act.

“I have already been robbed of my daughter, why rob me of the pleasure of taking flowers to her grave?”
