In a bid to raise awareness about Health and Safety issues both at work and at home, Bank of Valletta has, for the third consecutive year, organised the Health and Safety Week.  BOV employees participated actively in this year's edition which included health check-ups by members of the Malta Red Cross, courses delivered by Sedqa focusing on work-life balance, as well as practical training sessions.

"Our people represent the Bank's greatest asset," said Anthony Scicluna, Chief Officer Human Resources at Bank of Valletta. "Thus, it is our responsibility to ensure their well-being, both physical and psychological." He explained that Bank of Valletta has an on-going agreement with The Richmond Foundation, which gives employees continuous access to refer to professional assistance should they be facing challenging periods in their lives.."

Speaking about the Health and Safety Week, Alfred Debattista, Manager Health & Safety explained that, "Nowadays, people are more aware of the importance of leading a healthier lifestyle. Throughout this week, we seek to raise more awareness about the importance to balance work and family, whilst providing practical guidelines about how one may adopt a healthy lifestyle."

A broader perspective of health and safety lifestyle was adopted in the activities organised this year. In fact the initiatives organised ranged from motivational talks to pilates sessions. The dual role of parent and employee was discussed from various angles including communication skills, time management as well as the importance of retaining sound boundaries between work and family life.

The Health and Safety Week was hosted at BOV Centre in Santa Venera.
