Teenager Karl Cutajar is still listed as the director of Fort Security Services Limited, the company set up by the government to contract services and engage security officers.

Cutajar had announced his resignation five weeks ago, the same day that Economy Minister Chris Cardona had made a similar announcement in Parliament.

Normally, changes on the Registry of Companies on the Malta Financial Services Authority website are made within days, but Cutajar is still listed as Fort director, secretary, legal representative and judicial representative. The government has said that the MFSA had been notified of the resignation on 30 June.

Cutajar had resigned in the wake of controversy over his appointed to such a sensitive position at such a young age. He had blamed “harsh political victimisation” for his decision.

The Nationalist Party had criticised the appointment of Cutajar claiming nepotism as he is related to the ministry’s chief of staff.
