A 25-year-old Eritrean man was today charged with being in possession of cannabis with the intention to sell the drug.
Ibrahim Mohammed Shalh Adem was stopped during a surprise inspection by police in Paceville and was found to be carrying 10 grams of cannabis. The drugs were found inside a pack of cigarettes. The prosecution, led by Inspector Malcolm Bondin, said the drugs were found in circumstances denoting they were not for personal use.
Magistrate Marseann Farrugia denied a request for bail since the accused does not have a fixed address. Lawyer Leontine Calleja appeared for the man as legal aid.
