‘Let us not forget’ – a project which commemorates the Second World War and the suffering the Maltese population went through at the time - was launched today by the Senglea local council in conjunction with the Cottonera and Mtarfa councils.

The project is financed by the EU and will be have the participation of other councils, along with foreign partners from Latvia, Italy and Lithuania.

Social Dialogue Minister Helena Dalli said tthat from March 2013 to date, 21 local councils acquired a total €1,137,470 in EU funds to implement projects in the community.

Dr Dalli said that Muesac is serving as a means of assistance for local councils and for NGOs to guide them on EU funds.

Dr Vanni Xuereb – the head of Muesac – spoke on Muesac’s role which is tasked with informing citizens on EU matters.
