The Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Chris Agius today said more money has to be invested in Malta’s sports facilities.

Mr Agius said the European Olympic Committee will be financing the importation of sand in order to allow teams practicing beach sports to practice at the beach venue in Birżebbuġa.

The financial director of the Olympic committee David Azzopardi explained that on 12 August, beach volley, beach soccer, beach handball and beach golf tournaments will be held in Mellieha Bay.
