A 16-year-old is in critical condition after the car he was in was involved in a head-on crash in Hal Far last night, the police said.

The accident involved a Mazda Demio and a VW Golf, while a Fiat 500 was also with the impact.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site and released the 16-year-old of Cospicua, who was a passenger in one of the cars, for him to be taken to hospital where he was found to be in critical condition.

The 27-year-old Mazda driver and a 23-year-old woman passenger, both of Birtzebbuga, and a passenger in the Fiat, a 32-year-old of Mosta, were also taken to hospital for treatment. The latter suffered griovous injuries, the police said.
