Charles Camilleri, former president of Premier League club Valletta FC for four years, has died, aged 60.

A respected businessman who was honoured with the Gieh Il-Belt Valletta award last year, Camilleri was elected president of the club in 2003.

Camilleri left his post in summer of 2007, making way for Victor Sciriha who is still at the helm of the club.

One of the owners of Camilleri Caterers, based in Merchants' Street, Valletta, Camilleri also for some time served as president of the GRTU and of the La Vallette Philharmonic Society.

His funeral is being held on Monday at 2pm at St Paul's Shipwreck Church in Valletta.
