A 42-year-old woman has been placed under a two-year probation after she pleaded guilty to assaulting a traffic police inspector and two police sergeants.

In court today, Pauline Zahra admitted to assaulting the officials, slightly injuring a woman sergeant, driving under the influence, refusing to take a breathalyser test, swearing in public, disobeying police orders and giving false details.

Magistrate Doreen Clarke fined the woman €1,200 and placed her under probation for two years.

Police Inspectors Jeffrey Scicluna and Mark Mercieca prosecuted while lawyer Patrick Valentino appeared for the woman.
