Emanuel Calleja, from Birzebbuga, was charged with trafficking cocaine and ecstasy as well as conspiracy. He was also charged with being in possession of the drug within 100 metres of a school or place frequented by young people.

Mr Calleja was also found to be in possession of a weapon and when approached by the police, he allegedly resisted arrest, threatened and assaulted the police officers, causing them slight injuries.
