An Italian national who is on a visit to Malta suffered grievous injuries in her back after she fell off a quad bike, police said.

The accidents occurred yesterday at 1 p.m. in Wied il-Mielah, Zebbug, Gozo. The bike was being driven by the victim’s husband.

Police said that at first, the woman did not realise that her injuries were quite serious but then she felt a massive pain in her back and was taken to Gozo General Hospital where it was established that she has spinal injuries.
