Persons assisting in the investigation into the alleged beating of a youth in the parking lot of Gianpula nightclub are studying photos of people who attended a string of parties in the area held on the night of the beating, sources said.

The foreigner – who is in his early thirties - is understood to have been beaten by a group of unknown persons while walking in the dark parking lot in the early hours of Sunday morning. He was left unconscious. Sources close to the victim told this newsroom that the friends of the victim fled the scene as soon as they saw him being beaten by the group. “They were terrified to see what was happening and ran away,” sources said.

It is not yet clear whether the victim was initially hit by a car driven by his assailants before he was beaten. Sources said that what is for sure is that he was repeatedly kicked in the face.

Yesterday, the victim appealed for information on the attack and his assailants. The man says there was no apparent reason behind the vicious attack he sustained in the parking lot of the nightclub.

He is now "desperately inviting" anyone who may know anything whatsoever about the attack or those responsible to come forward with information.  He launched a specific appeal to the girls who witnessed the incident and who were seen pulling the assailants away from the victim.
