Vehicles will be using two carriageways on the Coast Road, between Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq and Triq ir-Ramla, as from tomorrow, Transport Malta said today.
Until now traffic is travelling in both directions on one carriageway. As from Friday, vehicles will start using both carriageways between Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq and Triq ir-Ramla. As per the final design, vehicles on the sea-side-carriageway will travel southbound while the land-side-carriageway will travel northbound.
The speed limit on all carriageways and all the Coast Road will for the time being remain at 40Km/hr and no overtaking is allowed. The Coast Road remains a construction site and drivers need to follow the signs, follow directions and drive with caution.
The Coast Road project has thus reached another milestone as works are proceeding at a steady pace and are fast approaching the completion phases in significant stretches.
