(5-3, 1-1, 7-6, 3-4)
M'Scala needed to avoid defeat to be crowned champions again, when they met M'Xlokk for the fifth time this season. The latter side had other ideas, as they went level on league honours, with two victories each and a drawn result. M'Xlokk reached their objective, with their victory over their rivals, as they went alongside them at the top of the standings, and forced a league decider, which is to be played next Saturday, in lieu of the BOV K.O. final between them. The K.O. final will now be played the Wednesday after, on 26th August.
M'Scala scored the opening goal of the match, but then spent the remainder of the encounter chasing their opponents. M'Xlokk overturned the score, with M'Scala twice going on level terms, before the two M'Xlokk foreigners gave their side a double advantage, till the end of the first period. The next session was short on goals, with M'Scala getting a goal back, but M'Xlokk again going two goals in front till the interval, on a 6-4 score.
After teh rbeak the goals began to rush in, with Matyas Pasztor converting two penalty throws, for M'Scala, but at the other end there was Ivan Vuksanovic piercing the opposing defence on a total of five occasions, The two sides shared thirteen goals in all, with M'Xlokk going into the last session on a healthy 13-10 advantageMilos Korolija increased M'Xlokk's lead, but that was his last contribution, as he was expelled for good. John Xerri de Caro still enhanced M'Xlokk's lead, but M'Scala came back, with a brace of strikes. Claudio Spiteri de Barro gave M'Xlokk more leeway, and although Pasztor again scored for M'scala time ran out on them, as M'Xlokk played out possession.
They finished on 25 points, the same as M'Scala, to force the league decider, on Saturday, as they will be vying with M'Scala for the last two honours of the season, in a matter of days. At the start of the season it was M'Scala who had the better of M'Xlokk, to win the Sports Journalists Cup.

After teh break it was a different story, with Ta Xbiex forging decisively in front, and establishing a solid advantage. Towards the end of the match, when Ta Xbiex were enjoying a six goal lead, they introduced Liam Pace in goal, vice their usual Jurgen Micallef. Otters took the opportunity to tot up a more respectable scoreline, as they put in four quick goals, to end their season on a more cheerful note, despite their defeat.
