PKF Malta unilaterally took an initiative to help build a network between the newly set-up Life Science Park in Malta and the already experienced, and fully functional Life Science Park in Krakow, Poland. This initiative consisted in organizing a high powered informational trip attended by engineers who were representing Malta Enterprise and PKF Malta with the purpose of viewing the infrastructure in Krakow, discuss recent research and development projects as well as future exchange of scientists in a number of high tech sectors. It is expected that this initiative does  contribute to enrich the existing level of the scientific projects in Malta.

It is well known fact that life sciences will play an important role in addressing the challenges of the 21st century. Research into individualized medicine, biotechnology, digital sector and preparation of alternative fuels are sectors that will need new approaches, methods and technologies. Well-equipped laboratories with high-level experts, together with the support of universities and hospitals will play a future role in the development of health research and the pharmaceutical sector.

This type of work is best promoted by fostering of transnational collaboration aimed to develop capacity and knowledge. Malta 's active science park community can act as a leader in bringing various countries and regions together and develop a comprehensive plan of worldwide economic development centered on science and technology as a prime driver of a vibrant economy.
