Charles Flores has been appointed to the PBS editorial board, this newsroom has learnt.

When contacted, Mr Flores confirmed that he was appointed around 16 days ago. He said he looks forward to using his 30 years of experience in broadcasting to advise – as well as putting his head down and getting straight to work.

Mr Flores, a Malta Independent on Sunday columnist, added that the appointment has evoked a sense of nostalgia.

He was an Information Officer with the Department of Information in 1977 and was appointed head of news and current affairs at Xandir Malta in 1979. In 1986, he was appointed head of radio.
