The difference between both leaders

Sunday, 11 October 2015, 09:09 Last update: about 11 years ago

The great difference between the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition can be seen in just a few words.

When Dr Joseph Muscat was Leader of the Opposition, whenever he spoke about what he and a possible PL government proposed to do, Dr Muscat always used to say: “If the people give us their trust” then carried on with his speech. Not so today’s Leader of the Opposition, Dr Simon Busuttil. In his latest speeches, Dr Busuttil has been saying: “When I am prime minister” and carries on with his speech.

How can Dr. Simon Busuttil say “When I am prime minister”, when he doesn’t know if the majority of the people will ever give him their trust to lead the country?
