The funeral of Dr Carmel Chircop, the lawyer who was murdered in his hometown Birkirkara last week, will be held on Saturday, the Duke of Connaught Band Club announced.

Dr Chircop was president of the musical society.

The Duke of Connaught band will be taking part in the funeral, which will start near the club premises at 8.45, followed by mass at the St Helen Basilica.

Dr Chircop was killed on 8 October with four shots fired by a gunman as the lawyer was taking out his car from his garage. The police are still searching for the killer.
