Horizon's latest publication is Laurence Mizzi's 'Artisti mill-Qrib' (Up Close with Artists) which is a collection of personal interviews with a number of painters, sculptors and ceramists that the author had carried out between 1988 and 1997. Most of these artists are renowned, some of them even having made a name for themselves abroad, and the line-up includes names like Josef Kalleya, Vincent Apap, Carmenu Mangion, Esprit Barthet, Frank Portelli, Harry Alden, Gabriel Caruana, Alfred Camilleri Cauchi, Ġanni Pace among others.
The interviews share insights both on the artists' personal lives as well as their art and thus should appeal from both the biographical and artistic, or cultural, point of view.
The book is further enriched with photographic material of the artists and their works and short information on collective and personal exhibitions that the artists put up along the years.
