On Friday 23rd October JCI will be awarding The Outstanding Young Persons Award to ten individuals who have made a difference within their community through their exceptional skills and whose success and talents can be an inspiration to others.

Ms. Denise Farrugia D'Amato, one of the founders of Reaching Cambodia, has been nominated for the Contribution to Children, World peace and/or Human Rights category.  Reaching Cambodia is a voluntary non-profit NGO whose main focus is to help and improve the life of poor, orphan and street children.  The Foundation will celebrate its second anniversary this November and already has a solid track record of completed projects in such a short span of time and this all thanks to the dedication, passion and drive that Denise puts in Reaching Cambodia.

Reaching Cambodia was born from the love for travelling Denise and her husband share and the huge impact real life situations they witnessed had on them.  This love made way to a dream - building something to make a difference, which has now materialized in a Foundation which is helping children to get regular food and daily necessities through sponsorships; improve hygiene conditions; attend English language classes and accessing basic medications amongst others.

The future of Reaching Cambodia looks bright as Denise continues to work hard in order to give these children a life with dignity and to solidify what was attained by Reaching Cambodia in the past two years and keep investing in the future of these children.
