The Labour Party said that Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil could not be taken seriously since he spoke about corruption but took no action in cases involving PN officials.
The PL said it was a known fact that everything Dr Busuttil said had to be taken with a pinch of salt since, despite talking on others he had different standards for the people around him.
Dr Busuttil referred to the car one of his MPs had been given for free by Joe Gaffarena as a deviation.
The Opposition Leader had given similar replies in other cases, including the oil scandal, the Gozo work-for-votes case and the weak concrete at Mater Dei.
The PL said Dr Busuttil has kept defending Claudio Grech and Francis Zammit Dimech. He also gave time to Giovanna Debono, who had supposedly resigned from the Nationalist Party.
The people, the PL said, are taking stock of Busuttil’s inconsistencies and double standards. It said Dr Busuttil spoke about honest politics and institutionalised corruption but took no action against the people around him. Therefore, he cannot be taken seriously.
