Labour's unethical behaviour

Sunday, 8 November 2015, 15:07 Last update: about 11 years ago

The next General Election will undoubtedly be fought on Labour's lack of ethical behaviour and the numerous political scandals that have gone unchecked. Gross mistakes, a lack of ethical standards and certain decisions taken hastily by this administration could have been avoided, and those who were abusive should have been sacked.

Voters who opted for a change in administration in 2013 because of Muscat's promises of a new way of doing politics, a new road map, promotions on merit first and foremost, etc., etc., are now disgusted by the seriousness of scandals such as those caught at Identity Malta, serious unaccountable errors in our Lands Department and so on and so forth.

Another grave mistake was the introduction by this administration is the new trend invented that, in order to satisfy at all costs every whim of those so-called labour supporters who claim to have suffered some form of injustice during the reign of a PN government. This should never have been implemented.

Complaints against the administration should only be allowed to be checked if they are addressed to the Office of the Ombudsman - and this applies to the PN Opposition as well because the Leader of the Opposition has been quoted as saying in recent speeches that the PN, when in government, would initiate an investigation to satisfy those registering their grievances (claims of injustices by Labour) at PN headquarters in Pieta.

Both political parties, and especially the Labour Party in government, should not allow selfish people to undo all the good work (if any) done so far - obviously if it wants to keep is fortunes on solid ground for the next General Election.
