The Minister for the Environment would have been somehow more credible had he taken some action in his own country as regards vehicles emissions before criticizing Volkswagen.

There are so many vehicles on our roads emitting dangerous fumes (mostly construction trucks and mini vans - but not excluding private cars) that it seems that nobody of those responsible are willing to do something about it. They are there for all to see, including himself. These are not hidden!

Therefore, now that the Minister is so keen on clean air, he has every right to criticize others, but he should first put his own house in order and get his act together for the sake of this country's citizens.
