Bank of Valletta announced that it is participating in the European Week for Waste Recycling that  between the 21st and 29th November.

With one of the largest workforces in Malta, and an extensive network of branches and offices around Malta and Gozo, Bank of Valletta generates a considerable amount of waste which traditionally ended up in landfills

 However, as Malta's Green Bank, Bank of Valletta has embarked on a campaign to extend the life of unused and unwanted electric and electronic waste to coincide with the European Week of Waste Reduction.

"Besides the electronic waste generated through our processes, we are calling on our 1,500 strong workforce to participate and bring their electronic waste which will eventually be given a second lease on life," said Mark Marmara, Green Manager at Bank of Valletta.

"This is only one aspect in which the bank is working towards the environment," continued Mr Marmara. "Last year, we installed over 500 PV panels on the bank's  properties, resulting in a reduction of over 125,000kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere. We are also piloting a waste-separation project that should reduce waste generation considerably."
