An ice hockey player was cut in the throat with a skate during a dramatic match in Russia.
Ladislav Nagy was trying to gain control of the puck from Vitali Sitnikov, a professional player on the Russian team, when he lost control.
Dramatic footage shows Sitnikov clutching his neck and collapsing after being slashed by the 36-year-old during the Continental Hockey League game in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The unlucky incident happened at the beginning of the third and final period of the match between HC Ugra and HC Slovan Bratislava.
Nagy, from Slovakia, can be seen slipping as he takes a shot and the skate catches Sitnikov's throat.
Sitnikov is seen clutching the cut before skating at high speed towards his teammates in a desperate bid to get a substitute on the pitch.
But blood soon starts to pour down his neck and he quickly collapses, forcing medics to stretcher him out.
A release on the team's website confirmed Sitnikov's artery had not been damaged in the brutal collision.
A spokesman added that he had stitches and said: 'Now everything is fine.'
