Malta Public Transport has condemned the act of aggression on a bus driver which occurred yesterday evening. The company said it does not tolerate any form of abuse and violence against its employees, be it physical or non-physical. The company will be cooperating with the Police in its investigation to bring the perpetrator to justice.

All the Company's buses are equipped with CCTV cameras which will help it and the police fight such unacceptable abuse on its employees.

"Every day, our employees work tirelessly to serve passengers and to help them get around on the public transport network. We take violence and abuse on our employees extremely seriously. We encourage members of the public and our employees to report cases of verbal and physical abuse immediately. We empathise with the bus driver who was carrying out a normal duty and will be offering our full support. We would also like to thank Mr Cassar Darien, the members of the public and the Police who intervened in helping the bus driver", said Daniel Grech - Commercial Director.
