The seventh edition of Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem was inaugurated by Gozo Minister Anton Refalo.
The organising committee comprises of the local council, the Gozo Ministry, the Madonna ta’ Loretu parish church and non-governmental organisations.
The committee worked hand in hand with the Gozitan Christmas Committee which organises various Christmas-related events in Gozo.

Minister Refalo said that this year’s nativity village won the national enterprise support award. He said that along the years, more and more attractions were included in the event.
The village is spread over 20,000 square metres of land. Points of interest include the carpenter and blacksmith houses, the bakery, a market selling natural fruits, fresh fish and vegetables, a wine tavern the Bethlehem Inn where one can actually rent a room a sleep over for one night, a local crafts area and a stable hosting the animals. The main attraction will be the grotto wit Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus.

Each house will host a family, played by actors, to remind us that the story of Christmas revolves around a family. Over 150 actors are to participate in the event.
