Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil said that he has found a second family in the party he leads, and he said he will be doing his utmost for “this family to be there for you when you need it.”

In his Christmas message, Dr Busuttil said at the time of the year everybody reflects on the past year to see what was given and received.

“I have given a lot, but I have earned a lot too. I was happy to see, for example, a Nationalist Party that rose back on its feet and is increasing in popularity. I was happy to meet people in the streets who told me to keep it up, something which is positive considering that normally, in politics, one is criticised.

“I have met people who are passing through difficult times and I have tried to understand them better. I spent one day with victims of drug abuse. They are people like us, like my children, like your children, who became victims of drug abuse and who need our support.”

“But the greatest satisfaction was that in the past two and a half years I found a second family in the PN. Officials, candidates, workers, volunteers and activists all form part of a family, and there is nothing better than feeling part of one family,” Dr Busuttil said, wishing one and all a happy Christmas.
