Together for Charity, a new initiative being launched by Bank of Valletta, will be supporting two important local NGOs, namely the Hospice Malta and the Inspire Foundation.
Launching this new initiative, Michael Galea, Chief Electronic Banking Officer at Bank of Valletta, explained that for every purchase transaction made with a BOV credit or debit card between the 1st and the 29th February, the Bank will make a donation towards Hospice Malta and the Inspire Foundation.
"Together for Charity underlines the Bank's resolve to make a positive contribution to the communities in which it operates and highlights BOV's commitment to play an active role in our society," said Mr. Galea.
"Throughout February, we are encouraging our customers to use their BOV credit and debit cards to pay for their purchases. In return, for every such purchase transaction, the Bank will be making a contribution to these two organisations that play such an important social role within our society. On the other hand, our cardholders will not be incurring any additional cost," added Mr. Galea.
The more people use their BOV cards to pay for their purchases during February, the more funds we shall be raising towards Inspire Foundation and Hospice Malta," concluded Mr. Galea.
This is the first time that the funds raised from such a BOV initiative will be shared between two NGOs concurrently.
Hospice Malta seeks to provide the highest level of palliative care to patients whilst supporting their families through a very challenging time whilst Inspire Foundation works closely with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach towards supporting patients in their care.
In addition to serving a philanthropic purpose, the Together for Charity campaign encourages cardholders to enjoy the convenience of using cards to effect payments, both when shopping in retail outlets and online. Over the past years, Bank of Valletta has also introduced the BOV 3D Secure functionality, which automatically provides cardholders shopping online with added purchase protection and peace of mind.
