The election campaign in the United States has inspired horror among Republicans and among many Democrats too. The rise of the radical billionaire Donald Trump in the Republican race for the nomination of US President is a serious threat indeed. Trump is promising George W. Bush-style cuts (for the wealthy) as the key to prosperity. He seems to have learned nothing from past Republican president’s disasters.
Three of the most odious, bullying, narcissistic tyrants in the world at the moment have been building their popularity by their 'fireworks' display in their various methods. Putin is having his way in the Middle East, killing opposition activists and their families to keep Assad in power while at the same time trying to destabilize Europe; the North Korean leader is fuelling his nuclear ambitions to try and destroy the world, and Donald Trump is gaining ground to get the nomination for President of the United States come November.
Now, Donald Trump and dictator Vladimir Putin have reached the peak of their absurdities by professing their mutual affection for each other. Russian President Vladimir Macchiavelli Putin is invading countries as he pleases, stifling dissidents and accused of killing those who oppose him! And comedian Donald Trump says that Vladimir Putin is 'worthy of admiration’! But Donald Trump also sneers at women, the disabled, blacks, Mexicans, Muslims, war veterans and anyone who is unattractive. Vladimir Macchiavelli Putin now says that Donald Trump is a really brilliant and talented person that is suitable to become President of the United States. So now we have this equation: the vulgar Trump and war criminal Putin. If the North Korean president joins them, we will have ‘three coins in a fountain’...
Another poll held this week in the US found that 50 per cent of American voters would be heavily embarrassed if Donald Trump is eventually nominated for president.
In this age of the rude and crude, is there a glimmer of hope in this world or a tiny shred of decency?
