“They had also decided that given his [Minister Konrad Mizzi] new role, as well as his greater role in government, overseeing projects including the area she [Mrs Sai Mizzi] was responsible for, she should relinquish her role.” Extract from ToM online, Thursday 25th February.
So now, Konrad will be taking over from his spouse Sai Mizzi.
Then the €500,000 of taxpayers' money she was a beneficiary of (to use another of Konrad's waffle-words) was frittered away for reasons in which the common good of the country does not feature. I find myself at pains to explain the obvious, yet one cannot point out that when Sai Mizzi was first given this sinecure, three years or so ago, Konrad had a lot, lot less on his plate.
At the time, the Health Ministry wasn’t part of his patch.
Added to the Health Ministry he now has the Deputy Leadership of the Party.
So, the obvious question to ask is this: If Konrad is convinced that the good work his better half (in a manner of speaking) has been “doing for you” will continue to be delivered minus her and her salary, when his plate is more than overfull, what prevented him from assuming this three years ago when he could have devoted more of his (personal) health and energy than he can now, considering that he now has the nation's health and energy in his portfolio as well as the daunting task of stemming the internal haemorrhage of the party as its Deputy Leader?
