A delegation from Rotary International and District 2110 including Mrs Ravindran wife of Rotary International World President and District Governor Francesco Milazzo recently visited Appoġġ Premises in Gwardamangia with several Rotary Club La Valetta board members and Governor's Assistant Ian Decesare.

The club received a Rotary International District grant to purchase play equipment and redecorate six interview rooms used for family visits at the Appoġġ centre.  Club members worked together with graffiti artist Malcolm Alden to create a bright and fun environment in the areas set apart for families to meet in.

The Rotary delegation was met by Mr Alfred Griscti  CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare and Ms Ruth Sciberras, Operations Director of Appoġġ who thanked Maltese Rotarians and Rotary International for the support and gave a good insight into the sterling work done by the Foundation for Social Welfare and more specifically by Appoġġ in the family welfare sector.   Club President Catherine Calleja explained that family welfare is an area in which Rotary International is actively involved, hence the financial backing for which she thanked Rotary International and all club members and Malcolm Alden who volunteered time over several months to meet requisites and complete the refurbishment works.
