Labour whip Godfrey Farrugia became the latest high-profile Labour official to say that Energy and Health Minister Konrad Mizzi should resign.
“If I were in Minister Konrad Mizzi’s position, I would resign,” he told Times of Malta.
Dr Farrugia joins former Prime Minister Alfred Sant and Education Minister Evarist Bartolo in a growing list of Labour officials to increase the pressure on Konrad Mizzi.
Dr Mizzi, embroiled in the Panama Papers scandal after it was revealed that he was the only EU minister to hold a company in Panama, has refused to resign. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said he is waiting for the outcome of an investigation.

The Malta Independent last week reported that senior Labour ministers had urged Dr Mizzi to resign in a parliamentary group meeting, but Dr Mizzi and Dr Muscat held firm.
