The PN and its faithful apologists in the media jumped on a comment made by Alfred Sant, when he advised Konrad Mizzi that it would be better for him to offer his resignation than leave it to the Prime Minister to do this, since this would enable him to defend himself better.

 These modern day “whitewashed tombs” (oqbra mbajjda) sang Dr Sant’s praises for the first part of his comment, but completely left out what Dr Sant said about the Prime Minister’s handling of this case! In fact, Dr Sant, in the same comment, admired Dr. Joseph Muscat’s “prudence and admirable sense of fairness” towards Dr Mizzi This is the kind of “Honest Politics” which Simon Busuttil keeps talking about – the politics of the gutter!
